A better understanding here, please

Looking for some guidence hereI have played with an apache web server for some time now. I buit this last one to monitor my solar and wind power. I have always just taken the xml files exported by the program and displayed them in tables to view the data. I have gotten creative with xslt and added more features to the page with colors denoting system status.

Now I have expanded to SVG as a way of taking the XML to a graphic level.

The xml is a fixed file from the equipment. Do I have to modify the file or is there another way to do this with xslt to gnerate graphs from the xml data ?
